Heating controls manufacturer, Danfoss, has launched the TP7001 – the first in a new family style of 7 day programmable room thermostats for domestic heating systems that combine a large, back-lit digital display for easy reading with exceptional functionality and ease of installation. Because Danfoss has based the programming of the TP7001 on its tried and tested existing protocols, installers will find the set up procedure familiar’, making it quick to install straight out of the box.
One feature of the TP7001 is that it can be set during installation to indicate when the boiler needs to be serviced, creating an opportunity for regular service business for the installer, and acting as a useful reminder for homeowners, and for landlords, who are legally responsible for their tenants’ safety by ensuring gas appliances are properly maintained.
Available in hard-wired mains or battery powered versions and with or without remote sensor, the new TP7001 programmable room thermostat is part of Danfoss’ wide range of programmable room thermostats providing different temperatures at different times of the day. It offers true 7 day programming, and up to six time and temperature changes per day to optimise efficiency. To improve comfort and economy still further, the TP7001 has an optional Optimum Start feature, which allows the thermostat to calculate the latest possible time at which the heating can be turned up to achieve the programmed temperature at the programmed time. In addition, the TP7001 is set to operate in chrono-proportional mode. The TP7001 will calculate the duration of the ‘on’ period required to maintain desired comfort levels. In ‘real world’ tests conducted by Danfoss, chrono-proportional control can result in a potential 10% reduction in energy consumption by the heating system compared with standard ‘on/off’ electronic thermostats.
The attractive back-lit LED display and timeless contemporary design of the new TP7001 from Danfoss are complemented by thoughtful features that make life easier for the user, and reduce the likelihood of time-consuming call-backs. For example, the TP7001 is fitted as standard with an automatic clock that is pre-set to adjust automatically to summer/winter seasonal time changes. Additionally, a holiday mode provides a chosen constant temperature operation before returning the unit to programmed thermostat mode.
