Danfoss is looking to build its customer base in Northern Ireland with the appointment of James Pollock as Area Sales Manager for the region. Born and bred in the province, 35-year old James brings ten years of trade sales experience with Wolseley UK to his new role at Danfoss.
Having spent much of his career to date in the heating and plumbing sector, including managing sales for nine Plumb Center branches across Northern Ireland, James says he is delighted to be joining a major player like Danfoss. Commenting on his new position, he says: “The Danfoss name and the company’s world-class heating controls are already well-known and respected in Northern Ireland so I’ve got a head start as far as that is concerned. My main objective is to build on this firm foundation and further strengthen our market position at the forefront of heating control technology.”
As Danfoss’ first Area Sales Manager in Northern Ireland, James is looking forward to meeting the country’s many existing Danfoss customers and developing new business relationships. James sees significant potential for increasing sales of Danfoss products right across the region, from standard dial thermostats right through to intelligent time and temperature controls with micro-processor controlled programming. “With wireless products used increasingly in the home,” comments James, “I believe Danfoss’ new battery-powered digital room thermostats, which utilise secure digital wireless communication, will be particularly popular with installers and users alike.”
As well as having possibly the most extensive range of heating controls on the market today, Danfoss products are proven to optimise energy consumption whilst maintaining a comfortable temperature, says James. Summing up, he says: “Research conducted at Salford University’s Energy House showed that installing a full set of of thermostatic radiator valves and room thermostat can reduce domestic heating costs by 40%. That’s the really important message I’ll be promoting to Northern Ireland’s heating specifiers and installers.”
