Danfoss has launched the CET2000B-RF battery-powered radio frequency cylinder thermostat. This latest addition to the Danfoss range combines the energy saving benefits of accurate temperature control of domestic hot water systems with the convenience of wireless installation. The CET2000B-RF is supplied by Danfoss as a complete package, including CS2 cylinder sensor and RX1-S single channel receiver, ready for quick and simple installation, without having to disrupt interior décor by running recessed or surface mounted cabling. The unit’s large backlit LCD display makes it easy to read and adjust temperature settings, especially as hot water cylinders are often placed in dimly lit areas such as airing cupboards.
Cylinder temperature is measured by the Danfoss CS2 sensor, a clamp-on unit which is fitted to the cylinder wall and wired directly to the thermostat – normally located adjacent to the cylinder. The RX1-S receiver is mounted next to the boiler or zone valve and responds to commands issued by the thermostat over secure wireless connection. This arrangement avoids the need for wiring between the thermostat and boiler or zone valve, reducing installation time and cabling.
Users can adjust hot water temperature using the cylinder thermostat’s simple up/down buttons. A flame icon is displayed when the thermostat is calling for hot water, while an aerial icon confirms the thermostat is connected to the receiver. The CET2000B-RF can be placed in standby mode when hot water is not required for prolonged periods, for example when occupants are away on holiday. In addition, the set temperature can be locked to prevent tampering. The display also indicates when the batteries are running low and require replacing.
The new Danfoss CET2000B-RF wireless cylinder thermostat is supplied with an installation and user guide.
