Danfoss is making intelligent heating control even easier with the launch of the new TPOne Programmable Room Thermostat, which is packed with user-friendly innovations. Designed to suit almost any domestic heating control application, the TPOne delivers all the functionality of the existing TP models in one all-new range, including true 7-day programming, holiday function, and it even offers timing for a hot water cylinder.
In developing the new TPOne, Danfoss has focused on efficiency, simplicity and an attractive contemporary design. Key features include a digital display with easy-read icons and information on status and settings. A backlight illuminates as soon as the display is activated and on-screen guides make it easy to navigate menus for setting or adjusting heating times and temperatures. With a highly intuitive user interface, TPOne combines fast installation and set-up wizard and menus with one-touch controls so householders can control their heating with confidence for optimum comfort and economy. TPOne makes it easy to set the desired temperatures for Home, Away and Asleep Periods.
Among TPOne’s user-friendly features is the new quick access Scenario interface. This handy function provides the flexibility to make a temporary change to the pre-programmed schedule to save energy or deliver increased comfort – all at the click of a button. Automatic control resumes at the next scheduled heating change.
Danfoss has also designed TPOne with two new heating startup options to reduce energy consumption. In addition to the default Standard startup for instant heat at the scheduled time, users can select a Delayed or Optimised start. Both adjust dynamically according to the difference between the ambient and set temperature, either delaying startup or calculating the optimum time to start heating to hit setpoint at the scheduled time.
Like all Danfoss room thermostats, TPOne offers the energy-saving benefits of chrono-proportional control (also known as TPI), making it ErP Class 4. When this mode is selected, the thermostat introduces a fixed cycle rate on the system and then determines the duration of On/Off periods within each cycle for optimum boiler efficiency and comfort.
Danfoss Marketing Director, Bjorn Sejr Nielsen, says this latest addition to the Danfoss range addresses many of the main priorities when it comes to installing and using heating controls. He comments: “From our extensive experience and research into this market, ease of installation and simple user settings are very important. That’s why we’ve designed TPOne with brand new levels of user-friendly interaction. The built-in Setup Wizard, for example, guides installers effortlessly through the installation procedure, while the responsive touch button interface makes TPOne really quick and simple to use. We believe this all adds up to a product that will be popular with installers and their customers and which has the potential for high volume sales.”
The new Danfoss TPOne Programmable Room Thermostat is available in Wired, Battery-powered or Wireless versions to suit different domestic applications. A detailed datasheet, including technical specifications and wiring details is available at www.heating.Danfoss.co.uk
